On July 14, 2020 I was 400 miles into a 1,500 mile trip in my DP motorhome when I notice the engine was beginning to overheat. It was 4:30pm and I had made several phone calls searching for a diesel mechanic who all told me they were booked days out.

I called Derrell's and explained the situation. Darrell told me to bring it in at 8:00am the next morning and he would get right to work on my coach. I stayed at an RV camp sight 1 mile away and the next morning I arrived at 8:00am. Patrick (mechanic) was assigned my coach and began working on the problem by 8:30am.

Patrick diagnosed the issue and kept me informed during the entire repair process, not to mention he is quite the conversationalist. The repair were completed and I was on the road by noon. A few days later I received a text from Derrell following up and checking if I had any further issues with my coach.

Five stars for Derrell's garage and five stars for Patrick.

After taking my car to another shop and being turned away because they couldn’t find any issues. I decided to get a second opinion and I am glad I brought it to Derrell’s Garage. What a wonderful team of professionals! This shop went above and beyond to help me as a professional driver. I had a difficult problem to diagnose, but they kept working until the problem was entirely corrected and at a good rate of charge. My family and I started our road trip for Glacier National Park from approximately Austin, TX. Our truck, hauling our RV, wouldn't come out of overdrive by the time we got to Amarillo, and we were in a tough spot. We had RV park reservations for the trip, and were missing precious days of our long awaited vacation, as our truck was a sitting duck in Amarillo. Derrell came to inspect it where we were, and gave us guidance. He wasn't able to work a miracle of fixing the transmission on the spot, but he worked with us to take care of our truck, allowing us to rent a truck and continue our vacation. We picked up our truck with a new transmission on the way back through Amarillo. Derrell went the extra mile for us and that allowed us to take the vacation we'd been planning on, and get our truck in running order for the drive home. I greatly appreciate his excellent customer service, and fine work on my vehicle.

We were on a road trip last November in our Class A diesel pusher when a hose to our air bags broke loose. Jacob arrived on the spot within an hour and got us back on the road. They even called us the next day to check in. Excellent service from this business!

He showed up fast, was incredibly helpful, and made sure we were safe. Jacob even followed us back to their shop just to be sure everything was running right before we got back on the road. I broke down while passing through Amarillo. The tow truck brought me to the only place in town that works on RV's. These guys welcomed me in, took care of the problem, and had me back on the road before the end of the business day. A great group of guys! 5 stars!

Derrell’s Garage has been a favorite of mine for more than fifteen years. When I need reliable service, there’s no other shop I would even consider! I’ve had both my car and my pickup in that shop for everything from oil changes and tuneups to water pumps and starter replacement. I’ve seen work come out of that shop that just amazes me! If it’s a car, a pickup, a motorhome, or a semi tractor or trailer, they have the personnel to handle job and get it done right! All at competitive prices too! They were incredible from start to finish! I needed to have my engine replaced, and they kept me informed every step of the way. If we could give them 10 stars we would! We were somewhat stranded after figuring out that a small radiator cap had blasted off in our motor home and was spewing fluid all over. We looked up Derrell's from the campground guide and he was extremely helpful. When my husband stopped by Derrell had a selection of caps that would probably work and would not take a dime for them, he just wanted us to get back on the road safely. You sure can get ripped off sometimes when you are on the road and helpless- Derrell's can restore your faith in knowing that there are some incredibly honest, caring and helpful people out there! Forever Grateful!!!!

While driving our 1936 Ford cross country we stopped for lunch in Amarillo. After lunch our car wouldn't start. We finally got it started but we wanted to be safe so we took it Derrell's to have it checked out. Tom took excellent care of us. He figured out the issue and got us back on the road quickly.

So I'm driving from New Jersey to San Diego in a 1970 chevelle and as I'm getting into Amarillo Texas the car blows all the oil out everywhere and I turn the car off. I found Derrels garage about a mile down the road off the 40 freeway I was on. They immediately found the issue (oil sending unit) and got me back on the road in less than an hour. These guys saved my @$$ I thought I blew the motor or something. By the way guys I made it home safe, car ran great for the remainder 1200 miles. Thank you guys. My wife and I broke down in Adrian Texas in the middle of nowhere. Our engine was knocking hard and bellowing black smoke. I found Derrells Garage on Yelp and gave them a call. I talked with J.R. And explained the situation. He quickly arranged a tow for our 40 bus. Upon arrival at the shop J.R. Introduced us to Bobby who was going to be our mechanic. VERY nice guy! Bobby quickly diagnosed our problems and got replacement parts ordered. Two nights in a hotel and we were back out on the road. Everyone at Derrells was fantastic! I have no problem recommending Derrell's Garage to anyone needing work done on their vehicles! I just purchased a 5th wheel and was having issues with the trailer lights working properly. We were supposed to be heading back to Colorado and I just couldn't figure it out on my own. Although these guys were already busy, they got the issue figured out and got me back on the road promptly.
